Coronation Avenue upgrade

We have just gone out for consultation on a road safety upgrade to Coronation Avenue between State Highway 3 and Tarahua Road. We are proposing a significant safety improvement for walking and cycling.

Devon Street West upgrade

Plans are underway to improve safety for walking and cycling between Belt and Belair Road.

Lower Carrington Street

The Lower Carrington Street upgrade is now complete.

South Road

From Belair to Manadon Street there are some cosmetic changes primarily to improve safety for walking, riding, scootering and bussing along this busy corridor. This work is now complete.

Coastal Walkway extension

Work is complete on the Coastal Walkway extension to Tiromoana Crescent. View the extension plans here.

Mangati Walkway Extension

Work is 80% complete, the remainder should be completed by end February 2017.

Mangaotuku Walkway Extension

Work is completed on this extension. 

Upper Huatoki Walkway Upgrade

Work is complete on the Upper Huatoki Walkway. .

Bell Street Upgrade

The Bell Street upgrade is now complete.

Crossing points

Crossing points have been improved in a number of key areas over the past year. Devon/Lawry Street, Frankley/Maratahu Street, Omata Road/Oranga Street, Tukapa /Trafalgar Street and Mangorei Road near Molly Improvements include traffic islands, signage and wheelchair and pushchair crossings. 

Cycle lanes

In the last two years over 14 kilometres of bright green paint has been marked on our roads to show where the cycle lanes are.
